My Application Essay for Masteral Degree
Dear Sir/Madam:
The four words and
eight syllables define my saying “Sacrifice first before pleasure.” If you want
to get something, you should do something in order to achieve it successfully.
Sacrificing has many
definitions depending on how you use the word to express thoughts and deliver
those meaning to others. In my own version of sacrifice is all about giving
yourself up to your loved ones especially the family. A sacrifice in which you
can do anything no matter how hard it is just to put things in accordance with
your will. But destiny always does challenge us and give us obstacles to test our
abilities and our strengths to measure our limits. So, we have to think and
plan things for the betterment of certain performances. Execute them very well
in order to achieve the goal we want to be attained.
I have done many sacrifices before I reached
the kind of life I’m having now. There are lots of obstacles I encountered even
odds as my life goes on. I tried to give
up because at that time I felt weak and I did not know what to do to ease
difficulties in life; being a student and a soon-to-be bread-and-butter guy
in the future. I knew that I was the
first and the one who can help the family in poorness. I also knew that it was
hard at first because of the heavy burden that I carried which led me into
stress. Despite the things that happened in my life; I continue to pursue my
dreams. And here I am now; a licensed public-school teacher who is still
serving in the Philippine Government and a teacher who can serve heartfully for
the young minds.
As I age, I also ask myself the questions, "What
more can I give?" "What else can I do?" These questions lead me
to a decision which is to continue learning and accept the challenge to improve
and see the better version of myself. I want this more than I need this, but
to tell you frankly, they are equally important nowadays. I want a Master's Degree
mainly because of our changing time. Imagine the gap of a millennial teacher
dealing with generation Z students, technological innovations, and changes in
our educational system, they are all the factors I wanted to focus on. I need this for promotion/ level up which
corresponds monetarily in order to provide for my family's needs. Also, my plan
is to continue my teaching career here in Caloocan, the place where
I started. I want to help and
inspire our learners from North Cemetery to be a more effective teachers to them,
not only to them but also to my colleagues. I want to share with them my experience
in continuing study and to encourage them also to take a Master’s Degree if I
will be given a chance to pass my course. To my working station San Jose ES, I
will stay for the rest of my life to help them much improve together with the
teachers who are also taking Master’s Degree at present.
I believe that
taking this challenge will require focus,
time management, and attention. It's like going back to the old me just
wanting to get a degree, but this time the purpose is not to have a job but for
my self-improvement. I look forward to
the learnings I could get, the people I will meet and the goals I will reach at
the end.
